Created over 25 years ago by the founder of the school Jill Stew, the school has grown from one small class to now teaching over 300 pupils. Principals Miss Anna Henry and Miss Amy Webb with additional members of staff are highly qualified in their specialist genre.
Classes are held at Stone Steps, a beautiful blanket warehouse that has been lovingly converted into a modern dance centre with two fully equipped studios also offering changing facilities and cloakroom.
Pupils are offered classes in Classical Ballet (Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus) from the age of three, Modern Dance, Tap Dancing (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance Syllabus) from the age of five, Contemporary Dance, Jazz Dance classes are also available. Drama classes (LAMDA) and Musical Theatre classes from seven years of age.
In addition to children's classes we offer adult classes in Ballet and Tap. We are soon to be offering Diverse Dance Mix classes created by Darcey Bussell for those who would like a full body dance-based workout.
All children are encouraged to work towards examinations although it is not compulsory. Pupils are entered for examinations at the discretion of the principals and their class teacher.
