Southbourne School of English

Southbourne School of English was established in 1966. This successful family-owned language school is situated in a safe and beautiful residential area of Bournemouth. Located just a ten-minute walk from the town’s award-winning golden beaches, and just a short bus-ride from the town centre, it is the perfect destination for students who want to make the most of their stay in England. London is a comfortable two-hour train journey away, and many other places of world-renown are within easy reach including Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge, Winchester, the Jurassic Coast (a World Heritage Site), the New Forest National Park, Bath, Oxford, and more.

In 2010 the construction of a large extension to the school was finished, and the entire school was completely refurbished. All 19 of our classrooms are now fitted with state-of-the-art interactive whiteboards. This enables our fully qualified teachers to use the latest educational methods available, and provides students with a complete multimedia learning experience. We now also have a large purpose-built cinema room with surround sound, making our free film nights more popular than ever.

The school offers a range of facilities to supplement both the educational and social needs of students. These include: a free language laboratory which enables students to continue their studies outside of lessons, a library from which students can borrow a wide variety of books, a computer suite allowing students free internet access during break times and lunch time, free WiFi internet access throughout the school, a large cafeteria offering hot and cold food, drinks, and snacks, and seating areas in the school garden.
