CrossFit Ickenham

We are a CrossFit, community-focused group built around supporting people in their health, fitness and nutritional development. As a like-minded group of individuals, we are building a community that puts the fun, camaraderie, and sport into being fit and healthy.

The current style of gym has evolved into a very lonely place, with training taking place in isolation from other gym goers – metabolic conditioning and resistance machines, all plugged into iPods or mp3 players.

Life is not a defined set of activities taking place at set times and involving regular sequences of activity. The body needs to be provided with a constant variety of new challenges in order to enhance its capacity to live a fuller life.

We need a shift from isolation-based exercise and return to natural, functional, dynamic compound movement-based exercise. Where the focus is on the body’s ability to perform at any given task and at any given intensity.

CrossFit is a programme of general strength and conditioning carefully constructed to develop a high level of health and fitness, which is wide-ranging, universal and comprehensive.

So what does all this come down to? Simple, train for capacity, not vanity!
