Ynni Anafon Energy Cyf

The Anafon Hydro Scheme is the latest community venture in Abergwyngregyn, North Wales. It exploits the power of the Afon Anafon by abstracting water from the river high in the Carneddau range, piping it 3.5km to a turbine house 234m below and returning it to the river once it has passed through our turbine. The scheme, which will generate 270kW of clean electricity, will be owned and managed by Ynni Anafon Energy Cyf, an Industrial and Provident Society set up to build and run this exciting community hydro project.
