Woodley Fun Day

The Woodley Fun Day started life in 2008 as part of the 'Hope 08' initiative for churches to reach out to people in their communities. The year was marked in Romsey by a number of activities, and the HOPE in Romsey Group organised Woodley Fun Day as an opportunity for those in the estates surrounding Woodley to join together as community.

A strong component of the Fun Day has been the large number of inflatable attractions, and low-tech 'summer fete' games like tossing the caber and "splat the rat".

The event has grown in size and popularity each subsequent year.

In 2012 the Fun Day ran for a full weekend, with several of the inflatable attractions remaining on site for a second day. The churches of Romsey joined together for 'Church in the Park' at 12 noon on the Sunday, following which attendees and residents remained on the green for a community picnic.
