Wokingham Theatre

Wokingham Theatre (WT) is one of the longest-running community theatre groups in the Berkshire area. Formed in 1947, the group moved to their current location in 1986. Hidden away next to the Cantley House Hotel on the outskirts of the town, WT puts on eight full-length productions a year of outstanding quality that belies the ‘am-dram’ tag. On each performance night, up to sixty people can have been involved in getting the show on its feet. From directing to designing stage sets, from on-stage to behind the scenes and even running the bar in the interval, WT is a thriving amateur group with over two hundred members making it a centre of creativity for young and old, veterans and beginners. It is a local gem for all Wokingham residents to enjoy. We have an annual audience attendance figure of over eleven thousand people.
