Whitley Bay Big Local

Whitley Bay Big Local is a Big Lottery funded, community led initiative to enable all who live or work in the Big Local area to get together to improve the community and make the town a place to be proud of.
Made up of an army of volunteers, the Whitley Bay Big Local partnership centres its activity around four main goals;

-Helping the community to be better able to identify local needs and take action in response to them

-Providing people with increased skills and confidence to be able to continue to respond to local needs in future

-Empowering the community to make a difference

-Encouraging people to truly believe that the town is better place to live, work and visit.

Whitley Bay Big Local Facebook page has been set up to engage with the local community and help to communicate all the positive activity which is taking place across the town. Much of this activity will be directly organised through Whitley Bay Big Local, but our page will also look to support the huge number of other groups and organisations who share our goals and are working hard to make Whitley Bay a better place; so please if you belong to one of these groups, please post to our page and we will do our best to share with our members.
Whilst we appreciate that some of the great businesses based in the town really enhance what Whitley Bay has to offer, we welcome your posts but to remain fair to all can't endorse one business over another.
