More about Where's That Bean

*Independent*
Where's That Bean is an independently owned mobile coffee shop. What makes it a bit special('er') is that the coffee, tea and hot chocolate is served from a customised cargo trike which circulates the parks and popular dog walking spots primarily in Penylan.

*Salsabarista, the Owner*
The owner / operator of Where's That Bean, Salsabarista (aka Gemma Bailey) decided to pursue the idea of serving coffee to people in the parks following chit chat on dog walks along the lines of "wouldn't it be great if we could have coffee brought to us" while watching the dogs do their thing.

*Solo, the German Shepherd Dog*
Where's That Bean officially launched on 22 October 2016 and since then can be found trundling along next to Salsabarista's German Shepherd Dog, Solo while he's enjoying his daily exercise.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it a franchise?
Nope. Everything about Where's That Bean has been put together by Gemma. The cargo trike was the first thing to be purchased. Then the Fracino espresso machine, followed by many many many online and offline shopping trips to buy accessories. Customisations were made by Punk Bikes, Cardiff, Gemma, Gemma's very clever Dad, and Gemma's very clever best friend.

Is it heavy?
Yes! We managed to weigh each axle and came up with the approximate total weight of 175kg fully loaded.

Does it have a motor or power assisted pedaling?
Nope, the trike is pushed by Gemma's legs and, occasionally, a helpful bystander (should we be struggling up a hill or over a tree root!) ;-P

Where is the coffee from?
Where's That Bean serves freshly roasted coffee from Quantum Coffee Roasters, Cardiff Bay. The beans are Quantum's own espresso blend of coffee from Brazil, Central America and Indonesia.

Why "Salsabarista"?
Gemma is a keen salsa dancer and teaches her own regular class. **WARNING, SHAMELESS PLUG - you can check out Gemma's salsa class at 5pm on Sundays at Wonderland Studios, Richmond Road, Cathays, Cardiff.

Where do you go & when?
At the moment, Gemma is still working out the best routes and so if ever you are in the park and fancy a coffee, check out the Facebook page - if the trike is out serving coffee, you can track it's exact location, live!

Do you only sell coffee?
We also sell tea and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate is single origin 61% cocoa solids fine chocolate flakes. We are trialing loose leaf breakfast tea from Chantler Teas (Pembrokeshire).

Do you take card payments?
Yes! We can also take contactless so Apple Pay is available too.
