West Hall Scout Campsite

West Hall is South Tyneside Scout District’s campsite, located near Whitburn in South Tyneside. It is an enclosed 3½ acre site (approximately 250m by 150m) containing a mixture of buildings, woodland and open fields.

The main building (B. P. Lodge) contains bunk room accommodation for 34, a main hall, an industrial kitchen, several toilets / shower rooms, a meeting room and the district office.

Westfield Lodge is a smaller building suitable for training purposes or as a base for larger activity days.

The site has a variety of camping areas in both woodland and in open fields. Several have fireplaces for open fire cooking, and there is a large campfire circle at the south end of the site. The site can accommodate over 100 campers at any one time (possibly more with careful planning).

A separate shower / toilet block with an access friendly toilet and shower facility (refurbished in 2010- 2011) is available for use by campers, with drinking water and washing up facilities.
