Vhairi Walker Photography and Design

Based in Torphins, Aberdeenshire, my personal work is mainly based on my surroundings and the ever changing landscape and my freelance work covers everything from live music and events to location scouting, web photography and commissions

In 2008 I started out as a family portrait photographer for a large company, after gaining Rookie Photographer of the year and over 12 months in this role I took the plunge to go back to further education and embrace my love of photography. I undertook my HNC and HND photography at Aberdeen College where I was awarded the Purchase Prize for the art, design and photography sector in 2011 with my collection of colour images that were shot on 120 film. Since graduating from Gray's School of Art with a B.A. in Commercial Photography I have had both solo and group exhibitions locally in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and also St Andrews, showing a vast array of my work.

I have gained experience as a location scout photographer in 2014 during a fantastic 3 month internship opportunity with the Aberdeen city and shire Film Office, getting the chance to photograph over 150 top filming locations across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
