Vanguard Reenactment

'Vanguard' is a North Eastern medieval re-enactment group that brings the 13th century to life, putting on Household Tournaments in which Knights, and their retinue, engage in physical combat and hope to win the day.
Furthermore, Vanguard also enjoys battle events from different time periods - reaching from 1066, with the infamous Battle of Hastings, to 1314, with the Battle of Bannockburn.

Not only does the group use authentic weaponry, armour, and military ranks, they also employ an entertaining and flourishing combat style to bring forward a time of fierce knights and men-at-arms who fight for honour, glory and coin in tournaments, and who fight for victory on the battlefield.

Back at camp, the LivingHistory display allows attendees of events to look at the civilian side of life. See how men and women of each of the social classes dress and behave.
