Hi and welcome to Vanbrugh College Sports!

Here in Vanbrugh we're passionate about getting everyone involved with all areas of college life. Sports is a great way to have fun, meet new people and experience the vibrant college spirit!

Whats On Offer?
There are 14 different sports you can get involved with through your college, these are:
Badminton
Basketball
Cricket
Darts
Football
Hockey
Lacrosse
Netball
Pool
Rounders
Rugby
Squash
Tennis
Women's Football
Over the year points are collected from matches, going towards a final league table to decide who wins the Inter-College Sport Championship.

In addition colleges compete to win the Inter-College Cup and in the summer term the fresher who has shown the most dedication and committment can be nominated to win the Justin Taylor Memorial Award. The York Sport Committee also award the player of the year to the guy and girl who have shown significant dedication to college sport by, for example, playing for 3 or more teams for 3 years, or by helping run college sport. As well as the on-going inter-college matches, there are also a number of one-day tournaments held throughout the year. These range from dodgeball to swimming, and from women's football to ultimate frisbee. Each of these tournaments contribute heavily to the final results table. Everyone in the college is encouraged to take part and supporters are more than welcome.
