The School of Health Sciences (previously Nursing, Midwifery and Physiotherapy) is a major provider in the region of pre-registration and learning beyond registration education to a wide range of healthcare professionals. In order to deliver and develop this provision the School recognises the crucial importance of its relationships with service colleagues at all levels. University staff contribute nationally to health policy development and locally to service delivery.
Staff are active in research, pursuing academic excellence together with clinical relevance with the aim of becoming one of the leading research units in healthcare sciences within the UK.
