Established in 1927 as a college of the University of London, the University of Hull achieved independence through a royal charter in 1954 (becoming the 14th-oldest university in the country). Since then we have continually developed to become one of the UK’s foremost higher education providers, with a student population of more than 22,000.
Hull is a truly international university, with approximately 3,000 students from outside the UK on campus and many more studying across the world through distance-taught programmes.
Students are at the heart of everything we do whether it's our high performance teaching results, outstanding alumni, internationally-recognised research or exceptional student experience.
