Tynemouth Watch House Garden Cycle Hub

The potential Tynemouth Watch House Garden Cycle Hub development will be located on the headland at the Tynemouth Spanish Battery directly to the east of the Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade (TVLB).

The location is at the end of the Coast to Coast Cycle Route, start of the Coast to Castle Route, on route 1 of the National Cycle Network, and the finish of the Great North Bike Ride. Currently there is no infrastructure to provide a warm and welcoming finish to a significant achievement... We want to change this!

The Coast really is spectacular in this area and we hope to encourage leisure in the form of cycling and fitness any way we can.

We have developed the design in such a way that the building will be below the ground with no point of the building being above 1.2M in height of the current ground level. Thus preventing any obstruction to and from the TVLB Watch House.

As the current parking around the residents area is already highly restrictive, the only access to the building would be by use of the footpath to the eastern side of the plot.
