I make, repair, restore and customise guitars, basses and similar stringed instruments. I have been doing repairs since 1981, doing set ups etc. for the Guitar Factory music shop in Sydney, Australia, now no longer there. I opened my first workshop in 1985 based at ABC Music in Addlestone, Surrey, and went on to work with Bell Music in Surbiton in 1987/88. I took a few years out of full time luthiery, then in 1996 I opened the Guitar Tree Luthiery upstairs at Ritz Music in Putney, London. I moved to Ripley with a much larger workshop in 2003 before moving permanently to Cornwall in 2008.
I have extensive experience of dealing with all aspects of luthiery from basic set ups, fracture damage, refretting, electrics, lacquerwork and all associated work. No job too small or large, I charge very fair and reasonable prices and look after my customers properly, with full satisfaction guarantee on all my work.
Over the years I have gathered a loyal following of many musicians worldwide happy to entrust their pride and joy instruments to my care and take pride and care to look after all my customers.
I do occasional lectures and talks on all things guitar and perform regularly at local and international venues.
