This Is Us - Youth Dance Company in partnership with Stopgap Dance

'This is us' Dance Company are the Tunbridge Wells youth group attached to Stopgap Dance Company. Stopgap Dance company are renowned for their innovative work with disabled and non - disabled dancers. They are an international touring company with a huge sector of outreach programmes. Tunbridge Wells is home to one of their youth companies - 'This is us'. Our group meet at Bishops Down Primary School from 4-5.30pm every Monday. The class is currently between the ages of 8 and 11years. However we are extremely interested in broadening our age range and offering more classes, so please do not hesitate to contact us. As well as gaining many performance opportunities and chances to create work, the group are also part of Stopgap's IRIS syllabus. We are funded through the IRIS grant given by Stopgap Dance. IRIS is a syllabus to allow the children to learn and develop in a way that can prepare them for a future in dance should they want to follow this route. The syllabus that is adaptable and accessible for all. With its keys features being Include, Respond, Integrate and Specialise. Our Stopgap group here in Tunbridge Wells is just entering its second year as a company. We are delighted with the development of the group so far and would love for everyone to hear and see more about the fantastic dancers we have in the group. The work we create ensures that every individual can strive and flourish to their best capability. The group is their to support and encourage one another to grow and challenge themselves further than they would ever expect.
