More about The Wild Rabbit

The Wild Rabbit is a re-invention of the traditional English inn. Set in the heart of the Cotswolds, within the charming and tranquil village of Kingham. The building dates from 1750 and after a thorough renovation, The Wild Rabbit opened in September 2013. As well as having a beautiful restaurant and a traditional pub bar, there are 12 very comfortable, individually furnished bedrooms and the Beehive cottage.

The menu celebrates everything that is great about local produce and will reflect the changing seasons, showcasing game throughout the autumn. Ingredients will be carefully selected by the kitchen team for their quality and will always be organic where possible. The Wild Rabbit supports British farmers, heritage breeds and artisan producers, demonstrated by the high-quality meat cooked in the traditional charcoal Josper oven. The wine list showcases small wineries that produce wines that are crafted with respect for the environment.

The Wild Rabbit was recently named Michelin Pub of the Year 2015 in the edition of Michelin Eating Out Guide, and has also received three Rosettes from AA, confirming their place as one of the great places to eat in the UK.

The restaurant combines the traditional British country-dining scene with modern innovative design. The kitchen is open so diners can see for themselves how food is prepared, and the charcuterie counter attracts some attention. The atmospheric private dining room, ‘The Chicken Shed’ seats up to 20 and has its own wood burning oven and kitchen for a private chef.

The traditional pub bar offers an eclectic mix of reasonably priced beers from artisan breweries alongside some more familiar names. Food can also be ordered from the daily changing blackboards as well as the restaurant menu. The large open log fires and worn leather armchairs offer a cosy bolthole on wintry days. In summer, the outside tables with views of the beautiful parish church provide the perfect setting for relaxing under a parasol.

The light-filled bedrooms are named after woodland animals and are individually decorated, with large, handmade and luxurious beds. The furnishings and bed linen have all been carefully chosen to ensure a great night’s rest. Rooms have different colour palettes but all incorporate the traditional Cotswold stone-wall decoration that beforehand was hidden behind the plaster. Each room also has an individual bathroom that is filled with Bamford Bath & Body products.
