The business is owned by Shirley Collins Ltd, established in 1986. Shirley Collins started the business trading from one of the first barrows on the shopping malls of the prestigious Metro Centre shopping centre in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear.

In 1987, we opened our first shop in The Metro Centre's 'Antique Village' called 'The Lace Kitchen'. This was followed by more shops in the centre, 'The Traditional Christmas Shop' and 'Quilts'.

In 1990, we set up a shop on the Gateshead National Garden Festival site and we won the award for the most popular large retailer on the festival site.

In 2001, we relocated our business to the historic town of Corbridge in Northumberland and it was here that 'The-Village-Square.Com' was born.

We work hard to give a first class and personal sevice to our customers on-line and we are constantly striving to source the best range of products for our website.
