The Village Orchard

The Village Orchard is a small well-established fruit orchard located in Flore, Northamptonshire. In the orchard we grow many different varieties of eating and cooking apples, some of which are old English varieties. In addition, we grow pears, damsons, plums, sloes and elderberries. Our orchard is maintained using traditional husbandry techniques and we do not spray the trees or the fruit with harmful chemicals.
Last autumn we decided to produce our own apple juice. We have an early season juice that we call Medium and a late season juice that we call Dry. Our apple juice is made only from apples from our orchard, no imports here! We simply press the apples, pasteurise the juice and add a little vitamin C to prevent the juice from turning brown. We then bottle the juice in 75cl bottles and stick our labels on. The whole process takes two to three days.
