The pub is owned a local lad. Bob Shields is a well known journalist and columnist with Scotland's top newspaper the "The Ayrshire Post".

Fed up with other local bars catering for the younger drinker, Bob set out to create an old fashioned pub that would be welcoming to every age group and background - and tourists of course.
