I love colour and textiles and subsequently decided to invite people to share their warmth and luxury and open a business. I import from Fairtrade and ethical sources that do not involve sweatshop conditions or indeed slave labour.
I have discovered a range of beautiful things that seem to enchant and delight people with their colour and feel.
The throws, shawls, pashminas and scarves are made from Baby Alpacca wool, Mongolian Yak wool, and Sabre silk made from an Aloe Vera plant.
Solemate socks are unique in that a pair of socks contain 2 different socks within a pair! After all "llife is too boring for matching socks!" - a fantastic present for people of all ages.
Bamboo socks incredibly soft and fantastic for your feet with many advantageous properties.
I have recently sourced a range of lovely colourful things made from handmade felt by a women's cooperative in Nepal. They are paid a fair wage and the money also goes towards supporting village schools and an orphanidge I believe. The items include felt rucksacks with 3 finger puppets, hand embroidered purses, vegan bags and purses, and beautiful felt handbags of various shapes and exotic colour combinations.
I am continually adding to the repertoire of things I sell as I discover them on my travels. For example key rings made from recycled skateboard etc.
I usually sell at local events and markets which I will list on the events page. I am however happy by arrangement for people to visit my home if they cannot attend one of the events, or need a last minute gift with a difference.
