A little bit of history
The Six Ashes Inn began its life in the 16th century as a Farmhouse set in the rural countryside of Six Ashes, by 1857 it had begun trading as an Inn.
The Buildings were then renovated in the 19th century.
There was also a working Blacksmiths Forge which once stood where the car park is today.
It is also written that the Village of Six Ashes has links with the English Civil War. It is believed that Oliver Cromwell him self took rest in a Farmhouse in the village. It is said that the Cellar of the Farmhouse was connected to a Colton Hall through which he made his retreat.
Civil War battles are recording in the local areas in the 1640’s.
