The Silk Route

We create beautiful and exclusive silk riding stocks. Hand-designed and made by the Silk Route in Scotland, our stocks bring style to the hunting field, dressage, eventing, cross-country and all other equestrian activities. We also offer ready-tied riding stocks, accessories including stock pins.

The Silk Route was originally created in 1988 by Claire Hislop, designing and manufacturing handmade dresses and special occasion wear. After twenty years in the fashion industry, Claire began making silk stocks, with her eye and experience for beautiful silk materials and colour. Claire had always been interested in equestrianism and having looked and struggled to find quality stocks, she felt there was an opening for a market for them. In 2008 Claire started a website and began attending shows. From there on, the business has grown, and as well as being able to purchase from the website, there are plenty of stockists all around the country.
