The Shower of Herring

Welcome to The Shower of Herring Restaurant, we are a small family run business and we put a great deal of energy into assuring that our guests are welcomed and treated as family while dining at our restaurant.

Named after an unusual occurrence near Melfort House in 1821, as recorded in the Edinburgh New Philosophical Journal, when a shower of herring fell from the sky, the Restaurant has been providing delicious food and friendly hospitality to Melfort Club members, visitors and locals alike since about 1987.
