More about The Rock Project Newtown

Welcome to The Rock Project Newtown.

****For more than just music lessons****

As a dedicated rock and pop music school for 7-18 year olds, budding musicians can learn how to play Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums or Vocals The Rock Project is the place to be for all young musicians of any level, whether you are a complete beginner or more advanced wanting to progress with public performances or forming bands.

Not only do we provide music lessons but as part of the tuition session we include a music quiz which is the ideal opportunity to include some theory and history of music in a fun way. The music students will also be encouraged to form their own bands and perform in jam sessions, all heading towards stage confidence and an end of year concert. As well as some performing at local events.

The lessons run weekly in conjunction with school term times, for 2 hours per age group ( 7-11 & 12 -18) All of our tutors are DBS checked and have an incredible musical background between them, from music degrees, live performance and recording studios. They will be able to teach the students all aspects of becoming a well rounded musician. As well as tuition in either Drums, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar or Vocals students will also be able to work towards Trinity Guildhall Rockschool qualifications.

The Rock Project based in North Wales keeps going from strength to strength. Since launching in 2008 there are now over 33 schools across the UK. As it has developed The Rock Project has produced several live performing bands now regularly gigging in the UK and Europe, some with recording contracts. As well as former students now becoming tutors within the project and forging their own musical carers.

The Rock Project costs £20 per 2 hour session, per child,so great value compared to the going peripatetic rate. There are no up front fees and all we ask is 7 days notice if the student no longer wishes to attend. To book a place you need a registration form which can be obtained by emailing or ringing us.
