The Reckless Engineer

The Reckless Engineer is an old fashioned, friendly, spit and sawdust style pub which is situated opposite Bristol Temple Meads Station and has good direct transport links to and from the city centre.

You can enjoy a taste of the region when it comes to the beers on offer. Cask Marque approved, there is Butcombe Bitter and Otter Bitter served straight from the barrel at the back of the bar. At £3.20, the Otter is certainly good value for a city centre pub!

If you are a cider drinker, you can enjoy Stowford, Blackthorn or Addlestones, while alternatives include Carling, Fosters, Stella Artois and Guinness.

Food is served during the hours of 12noon – 3pm and the menu includes real “Pub Grub” such as; Burgers, sandwiches, toasties, jackets, basket meals and main meals like cottage pie, chicken curry, scampi and chips and chilli con carne. We also cater for Vegetarians too.

On the weekends we liven the place up a little with a selection of locally based Rock cover bands providing our entertainment. Always free entry and music starts around 9.30pm-ish!! Please take a look at our events tab for info on bands coming up!
