Colin and Norman took over the Lease of The Pitsligo Arms Hotel in August 2009 and quickly established themselves in the North East as one of the best places in the area to Eat, Stay and Relax. Both local to the Aberdeenshire coast, Colin was born and grew up in Pennan, working in the Pennan Inn, the hotel made famous in the 1983 blockbuster film "Local Hero" starring Burt Lancaster. After working in various restaurants and bars in Fraserburgh and Aberdeen Colin moved into Contract Catering in 2006.
Norman, local 'loon' from Fraserburgh studied Catering and Hospitality management at Banff and Buchan college 1990-1992 and after working in a few establishments around Fraserburgh for a few years following college changed career path into Catering within the Oil and Gas Industry. Colin and Norman met in 2004 but it wasn't until the Spring of 2009 they both came to the decision to embark on their own venture when they realised there was a market in the area for a good local homely environment for the locals and visitors to the towns and villages of Aberdeenshire to meet, eat or simply relax.
