We pride ourselves on being a welcoming, friendly tattoo studio with a punctual service, sorry we do not do piercings.

Our tattooists are artists and take pride in being able to design and draw you your own individual tattoo. They will not copy another artists tattoo or design (unless its your own design) but rather use it as reference to design you your own tattoo.

Hollie May has been tattooing full time since 2010 after completing her year and half apprenticeship at a studio in Marple. She then worked briefly for 6 months in another studio before opening Hollie May Tattoos in Leek in 2011. In 2012 she moved to our current location on Fountain Street and renamed to The Old Smithy Tattoo Parlour.

Bex Heath, Hollie May's apprentice has been involved with the studio since we moved to Leek, first just working on Saturdays volunteering and then becoming Studio Manager. Bex officially started her tattoo apprenticeship in November 2015 and has been tattooing since September 2016.

Matt, Hollies husband is the Studio Manger and co-owner and manages all aspects of the studio, he is the person customers will most likely deal with on a day to day basis.

If you have an idea in mind or some reference images, you can either message this page, email them, or bring them in to the studio and we'll be able to give you an idea of how long it will take and cost. Any ideas that require a consultation with the artist, we will book you one in, but most can be dealt with by our Studio Manager.

Hollie charges £60 ph or £330 for a full day (10 till 5)
Bex charges £40 ph or £220 for a full day (apprentice rates

To book in we always require a non refundable booking fee, which is £40 for appointments under 4 hours and £100 for 4 hours and over. Booking fee's can be paid with cash in the studio or via PayPal. If you have PayPal we can take a booking completely over the tinterweb and there's no need to come in to the studio. Sorry we don't accept cards.

To change an appointment we require at least 72 hours notice, this will help give us time to fill your appointment. If you cancel or no show you will lose your booking fee. You may be asked for a second booking fee if you do need to re-arrange at short notice. Please ALWAYS contact us if you do have a problem.

We are a reputable and respected tattoo studio, every tattoo that we do is our business card. Unfortunately tattoos are still a trend and can sometimes give you a disadvantage in life with jobs etc. For this reason if you enquire about about, face, neck or hand tattoos we will usually enquire about your personal circumstances. This is just to make sure you are making the right decision and you fully understand the big commitment with this kind of tattoo.
