Welcome to the Facebook page for ‘The Lock Climbing Wall’ formerly known as ‘Harlow Climbing Wall’.

The Lock is Essex's premier indoor climbing facility; whether you are a seasoned climber or a newcomer looking to try the sport, The Lock provides quality climbing experiences for all abilities, from age 8 and upwards. Following our recent renovation we offer a warm, comfortable and friendly environment in which to enjoy climbing all year-round. At only 2 minutes’ walk from Harlow Town Station and close to the A414 we’re really easy to access.

Our facilities include
• 4 main climbing walls up to 14m in height – some of the tallest in the South-East
• 1000sqm of climbing with 50 lines and over 100 routes, ranging in difficulty from 3 to 8a
• Top roping, 60 bolted lead routes and ’Dry Tooling’ (simulated ice climbing)
• Dedicated bouldering room and abseil platforms
• Specialist facilities and equipment for those with disabilities
• One of our four main faces is reset every month with new climbs and new holds
• We offer instruction & coaching for all levels from beginners courses to lead climbing and National Governing Body awards
• Equipment hire and shop stocking climbing essentials
• Memberships for Young People and adults offering excellent value for money, with reductions for concessions
• The Lock Café serving Tea and coffee as well as delicious cakes and paninis
• Activities for kids including birthday parties and School holiday activities
