Restoring Active Raised Bog habitat in Ireland's SAC Network

Ireland's largest bog restoration project is working on restoring threatened raised bog habitat in 12 project sites in 7 counties between 2016 - 2020. Our works will improve over 2,600 hectares of raised big habitat - the equivalent of 8,000 Croke Parks, restored for now and for the future.

Active Raised Bog once covered over 310,000 hectares, mainly in the Irish midlands. It is estimated that just 1% of this remains today.
