The Litton

'The Litton' is a new exciting venture which began in March 2015 when the freehold was purchased.

The original Kings Arms is steeped in history. At the foot of the Mendip hills, the Kings Arms was originally built in the 1420's, it started life as a food mill, becoming the focal point of the village of Litton as a meeting point for locals, farmers and producers.

A sympathetic refurbishment in keeping with the period features of the building commences in January 2016.

Open stone fireplaces and original flagstone floors are retained within the design, together with exposing and renovating the original oak beams throughout the oldest part of the building, allowing the building to live again. A delicate process of removing built up floors over the years, we hope will expose more of the original flagstones for renovation.

Landscaping to the gardens will create an all year round ambient outdoor space with the sound of the River Chew in the background.

Ensuite boutique bedrooms, some with roll top baths will each be individually designed to the same high standard, including a disabled ensuite bedroom with an interlocking ensuite room for carers.

The final part of the refurbishment will reveal a new bar with galley kitchen behind where customers can view the chef brigade, a Whiskey bar serving specialities and a place to relax in ambient surroundings and a stage for local live music events.
