Set on a quiet country lane in Cliddesden, the flower arrangements in the hanging baskets catch your eye as you drive up to the ample car park at the back. The roomy garden with plenty of seating leads to a permanent gazebo offering protection from the sun and the rain when needed. Upon entering the pub you will be greeted by friendly staff behind the bar ready to serve you or see you to a table to eat. You will see a selection of fine ales which change regularly as well as a selection of fine wines. You will have 2 menus to choose from; the garden menu offering wraps and baguettes for a 'lighter appetite' plus the 'pub favourites' menu offering rib-eyed steak, fish and chips and homemade burger with caramelised onion and brie to name but a few. You will also have a wide selection of daily specials to chose from which are a particular favourite with regulars and new-comers alike. These can range from a trio of local pork and herb sausages with creamed potato and red onion confit to grilled cajun shark loin with a homemade peanut coleslaw served with a homemade french fries. All the food is sourced as local as possible, made fresh and is excellent value for money. The atmosphere is friendly, warm and inviting so if you are looking for a new 'local' then come take a look.
