The Harley Gallery

Welcome to The Harley Gallery, where old and new come together.
Situated on the ducal Welbeck estate in Nottinghamshire, The Harley Gallery is home the historic Portland Collection of fine and decorative art. The collection has been built up over the centuries by the Dukes of Portland and their families. There are hundreds of treasures on show including Michelangelo’s ‘Madonna del Silenzio’, Van Dyck’s portrait of the Earl of Strafford, and the pearl earring worn by King Charles I to his execution.
Displays from this internationally significant historic collection are accompanied by exhibitions from leading contemporary artists. Exhibitions change five times a year, and range from ceramics to photography.
The Gallery is also home to an award-winning Shop.
Additional attractions include events, ranging from tours of the State Rooms at Welbeck Abbey to meeting craftspeople at the Harley Open Studios, a café serving homemade meals and snacks, shop specialising in contemporary crafts, and children’s’ activity area.
