The Golden Fleece

We are Jess and Peter Tatlow, the new owners of The Golden Fleece, and we would like to welcome you to a new era in the pub’s long history. Having successfully run the George & Dragon at Watton-at-Stone for 9 years we intend to bring to Braughing the same quality of food, service and ambience.

The building dates back to the 17th century so, as you would expect, there are oak beams, exposed brickwork and open fireplaces to welcome you. The comfortable and convivial bar is an ideal spot to meet friends and enjoy a pint, or read the papers over a coffee or a glass of wine. You can also choose from our menu of freshly prepared food made from locally sourced products. In the winter you can be sure of a roaring log fire to warm the cockles of your heart - and your hands of course.

Food is served in the main dining room, private dining room, pub bar and outside on our newly completed terraces. Tables can be reserved in both dining rooms. We offer a range of dishes all prepared in our own kitchen using only the freshest ingredients and, wherever possible, these are sourced from local suppliers. Creating new and exciting dishes from local produce is both challenging and a lot of fun. We just love seeing our customers satisfied and contented.

Our goal is to exceed our customers’ expectations and, to that end, our friendly staff - some of whom came with us from Watton - are well-trained and informed about the food and drinks they serve, including special dietary requirements. We are passionate about our food, wines and ales so we always aim to go that extra mile to make every dining experience a special occasion. We look forward to welcoming customers old and new for many years to come.
