According to the period Ordnance Survey map on the wall of this charming pub, it used to be on a road called Burn Witch Know. That gives you an idea of the history of the West Port area, one that's reflected in this venerable pub with its jet-black exterior and its sign saying 'Established 1823'. It adds to the atmosphere of this low-ceilinged pub which gives a friendly welcome to locals, students, professionals, lawyers and workers from the nearby dental hospital. Decorated with a mix of sea-faring memorabilia and favourite DC Thomson comics, including Oor Wullie and The Beano, The Globe is proud to celebrate Dundee's contribution to the big wide world.
