The Fit Dad Project Manifesto

Who are we?

We are 3 Dads from different parts of the UK, who coach men into the best shapes they’ve ever been in.

All 3 of us have various backgrounds and very different varied lifestyles.

We all share the same interests, being lean and healthy, our kids, families, exercise, sport and living a normal and enjoyable lifestyle, that isn’t restricted.

Coach Aled is from Mold in North Wales.
He has an 18 month old daughter and likes powerlifting, Rugby and beers with the boys after a game.

Aled is a bit of a foodie and enjoys making calorie friendly meals. Aled works a 60 hour week at the moment and struggles to fit everything in.

Coach Mike is from Cheltenham in Gloucestershire.

He has a daughter, 9, and another one on the way (due today!).

He plays and coaches Basketball and loves strength training.

Mike is often out with his mates for a few drinks and food. Mike works long hours and has various things going on, especially with his wife expecting.

Coach Dan is from Southampton.

He has a daughter, 7, plays most sports, especially mountain biking now he’s in his 30’s and likes travelling.

Dan’s life is hectic with many projects and commitments, with long hours and lots of different responsibilities.

What are we?

The Fit Dad Project have come together as we have seen a common trend.

Dads are often left behind when it comes to being lean, fit and healthy.

Both mum’s and dad’s share very different responsibilities when it comes to parenting, with each family dynamic completely different in nature.

The common trend seems to be, that Dad’s often find it very difficult to get themselves in shape when they have children, for a multitude of reasons.

Often these reasons are time or lack of it, guilt of not spending enough time with the family, lack of education and confusion around what they should or shouldn’t be doing with exercise and also nutrition.

All three of us have been here. We’ve had “normal” jobs not just as coaches.

Aled has worked in the Local Authority for years, Mike in Law and Dan in IT.

<----------------------------------------------------------------------------->
Why are we doing it?

We all know what it’s like to be in that situation, so we know how to help.

All three of us are evidence based coaches and we are here to cut the bullshit.

There’s a lot of crap out there.

We know you can’t train 10 hours a week and eat salad every day.

What man really wants that anyway?

Dads have a very different role in the family.

We can relate to this.

All three of us have very different dynamics in our families and the situations can prove tough to make time for us.

We all appreciate it’s totally unfair to go off and exercise for hours on end, when the mother of your children has been hectic all day and needs stress relief.

The solutions are there, we can provide them.
That is our goal.

To help Dad’s get in the best shape of their lives, without the stress and time you think it will take to get there.
