The Empire Diner, Essex

The Empire Diner is the end result of a lifelong dream to bring a taste of America to the heart of Essex.

The founders of this diner are fully trained and experienced in the restaurant industry and have travelled and worked abroad extensively, this has enabled them to gain first-hand experience of the best American food there is.

Mark, the founder of The Empire Diner, first visited New York at 19 years old while working as a silver service waiter on the most luxurious cruise ship of its time, the QE2. Since that first visit, New York has become his favourite destination. He has visited New York on numerous occasions, gaining a valuable insight into authentic American diners.

So it only seemed right that he named his first diner after one of the most iconic buildings in New York, The Empire State Building.

Our aim is to offer a modern take on American diner cuisine.

Our ingredients have been carefully chosen to be locally sourced and sustainable.

Our menu is exciting, mouth-watering and will leave you wanting to come back for more.

Besides Marks passion for food, he has always been passionate about cars and motor cycles which is clearly evident by the interior design and memorabilia. The rest rooms are a particular attraction, decorated by Swedish artist Flesh AKA Sean Lidstrom, an absolute must see when visiting!

One of our key focus points is to offer the younger generation more than just frozen chicken dinosaurs. We believe that children should be offered the same great food selection as adults, only smaller, like them!

The vast majority of our food will be home made and cooked on the premises.

Our vibrant bar will offer draught American beers, amazing cocktails and a warm greeting from our restaurant manager Angela.

We welcome car clubs and motorcyclists; club nights can be accommodated with prior arrangement (see contact information below)

Our extensive car park area has plenty of space for most clubs in the area.

Our premises are large enough to hold other private functions such as birthdays, Christmas parties and wedding receptions.

We will be holding live music events on Fridays and Saturdays Along with the occasional Sunday afternoon acoustic sessions, if you are a local band looking for a gig please get in touch by phone or email.
