The Elms, Chester-le-Street

The Elms, on Moorfoot Avenue, represents a new era for older people’s accommodation in Chester-le-Street.

The Elms provides high quality living accommodation for people aged 55 and over, enabling residents to enjoy the best possible quality of life in flexible, supported surroundings that promotes a sense of community and a strong connection to the wider, external environment.

Residents will have peace of mind that their home and communal facilities such as gardens and lifts will be maintained to a high standard. The scheme was built in 2015 and consists of 58 flats, both one and two bedrooms, there are two lifts, a lounge, a restaurant, laundry facilities, guest facilities, garden, cafe, hairdressing salon, and an assisted bathing facility.

The flexibility of the scheme enables residents to remain both independent and living within their own homes for as long as possible. You can enjoy living in the privacy of your own home with your own front door and living space while also having the benefit from access to a range of facilities.
