The Dandy Lion

Our pub is situated in the stunning Wiltshire town of Bradford on Avon, South East of the City of Bath. Bath being a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Often referred to as a Mini Bath, Bradford on Avon or “BOA” as the locals (and some road signs!) will say, is steeped in history and well worth a visit either independently or as a side trip to your visit to Bath. With it’s own train station in the town centre, there is no excuse why Bradford on Avon should not be on your ‘To Visit’ list.

Historic Architecture, Canal and River Walks (Yes we have both), a 13th Century Bridge, Drinking, Eating, Farmers Markets, Boutique Shopping, Arts & Crafts, Antiques, Museums, Charming Cottages and even a Civil War Re-enactment, BOA pretty much has a bit of everything.

The Dandy Lion building dates back to the 18th Century and has been a Boot and Shoe Business, a Medicine and Wine Merchant, a Grocery, a Steakhouse, a Bar and Bistro and then in 1990, The Dandy Lion came into being and has traded under this great name ever since.

The Dandy Lion has been under new management since the 2nd of August 2016 and is part of the GLO-bal Pubs group. We offer a great selection of drinks, including Real Ales, Ciders, Lagers, Wines and Spirits and we pride ourselves in homemade, locally sourced food served with a genuine and natural service style.

Our aim is to keep our pubs as pubs; staying away from the current trend of high gloss white tiles and fancy pants menus and focus more on the traditional side of the pub trade.

Whether you are looking to spend some quality time with your family (dog included), catching up with friends (or a cheeky first date) or catching up on emails (yes we have free WiFi), The Dandy Lion can offer you that warm welcome and comfy spot to do just that.
