The Coates Centre

Named after our founders, The Coates Centre is an entirely new service for Oakhaven. Set in the hospice grounds but in a separate building, The Coates Centre provides information and support for anyone in the community whose lives have been impacted by illness. This could be anyone who:

- is living with an illness
- is looking after someone with an illness
- has been bereaved

We provide information and support through a variety of methods. These include:

- Trained volunteers who can help guide individuals to quality written information that is either held in stock, or on the internet.
- Signposting individuals to additional services/information/support that may be of interest
- Support and information through peer group support
- Support through the provision of a programme of activities running within the centre
- The provision of a small library with materials on ‘living well’ and ‘living with’
- Support and information through a place where you can ‘drop in’ for a coffee and a chat

At The Coates Centre you will find a “hub” where you can drop in for a coffee or snack and a chat. The hub is open to all – so please drop in to have a look at what’s on offer.
