The Bring Me Sunshine Appeal - Children's Ward, IOW NHS Trust

The Children's Ward Staff were set a challenge this year to turn £100 into £1000 by our Charge Nurse, Matt Powell. The whole team has been involved - nurses,doctors, ward clerks, nursery nurses, house keeper and play specialist to create 'The Bring Me Sunshine Appeal'. We are fundraising to provide a little extra boost for children being cared for on our children's unit or by our community team when they are ill. Depending on how much is raised this could be entertainment systems for our teenagers, extra support and education for children with diabetes, and a machine to speed up the processing of blood results on the ward - we have so many ideas!

Our Children's Unit in St. Mary's Hospital is comprised of a main general ward, a day surgery ward, a children's outpatients department, a community nursing team and a virtual hospice team including community nursery nurses.
