The Alver Valley is roughly 200 hectares of semi-natural grassland, reed bed and woodland, providing habitat for a huge range of animals and plant life. It is open to the public all year round apart from the Wildgrounds nature reserve which is permit only, March until October.
The site is owned by Gosport Borough Council and managed by the Countryside Section along with other sites throughout Gosport such as Gilkicker and Monks Walk. The section consists of one full time member of staff, one part time and once a week a fantastic volunteer group. Always feel like you can stop for a chat if you see us out and about.
