The Activity Lady

After over 10 years working in various roles within the care sector then 15 months as the lead activity coordinator in a nursing home I realised how important activities and interactions are. These can be anything from energetic activities such as exercise sessions to just simply holding someone's hand and reading to them.

For those living in the community with difficulties they often have carers to pop in and assist with personal care, meals and medication but as i found when I worked in the community you don't often have the time for much more. This is where I will come in. Bookings can be made from an hour up to a day to assist the individual with activities in the home such as cooking, flower arranging, crafts, gardening, music and reminiscence or maybe they would like to visit the shops, library, community groups or cinema. I will be on hand to assist and support and enable them to gain more confidence and enjoy life.

Above all I would like to make people smile and laugh as this is so important for us all!
