Cycling unsupported from Land’s End to John O’Groats, the furthest possible distance in the British Isles, is a classic challenge that many dream of.

Starting at Land’s End on the south-westerly tip of England, we will pedal our way through Cornwall, over Dartmoor and north along the Welsh border, skirting the Lake District into Scotland, via lochs and the Highlands to the North Coast and finally John O’Groats. We hope..

On the 23rd May 2017 Wayne and Paddy will be riding from Land's End to John O'Groats in aid of Brain Cancer Research and the Meniere's Research Fund.

The ride will be unsupported and self-funded and we hope to complete the 1000 mile ride in 11 days. We both bought our first road bikes in September, having never owned one before. We now have all the gear, but no idea. Training has been hampered by broken wrists (Wayne), torn ligaments (Wayne again..) and general time issues. Let there be no doubt, this will be a suffer fest..

Brain Tumour Research are striving to fund a network of seven dedicated research centres whilst challenging the government and larger cancer charities to invest more in brain tumour research.

Meniere’s Disease (https://patient.info/health/menieres-disease-leaflet) has devastating effects on the lives of those afflicted and on those who care for them. Working lives are disrupted and careers brought to an end. The normally ordered and busy lives of otherwise healthy people, suddenly become totally unreliable.

The unresolved questions surrounding the condition have been tackled for nearly 150 years without finally identifying the cause and a possible cure. The Meniere’s Research Fund Inc (the Fund), a not for profit fund raising group run by volunteers established in 2002 as a development from the Meniere’s Support Group of NSW (now disbanded), has been stepping up the research effort.

With your help in maintaining and expanding the world’s first laboratory dedicated entirely to studying Meniere’s Disease, established at the Brain and Mind Research Institute, their program will lead to enhanced early detection, preventative strategies and superior treatments sufficiently alleviating the condition to make sufferers able to again lead a relatively normal life.

Money raised for the Meniere's Research Fund will be funnelled through 'The Friends of the University of Sydney UK Trust' who will ensure it finds its way to the Meniere's Research Fund.
