More about Tamara Hick Equine Sports Massage Therapist

ABOUT ME
I am an ITEC qualified Equine Sports Massage therapist covering Devon and Cornwall, also treating the rider aswell as their horse. I have been fortunate enough to be trained by the world renowned Veterinary Physiotherapist, Mary Bromiley, which I can safely say has been the highlight of my equine career.
For many years I worked within the racing industry internationally before returning to Engalnd, where I worked as veterinary nurse in a busy equine and small animal hospital.
My experience within the equine industry ranges from working in racing to veterinary work, eventing and polo.

How do you know if your horse may need massage therapy?

Any unexplained changes in your horses behaviour could be signs of discomfort.
Some more common signs could be:

A preference to work on a particular rein

High head carriage
Head tilting
Unusual tail carriage
Sudden dislike in being groomed
Unexplained ‘bad’ behaviour when ridden.

TREATMENT
As an Equine Sports Massage Therapist I work alongside your vet ensuring your horse is receiving the best possible treatment. Veterinary permission will be required prior to any treatment given.
Treatment lengths vary depending on your horse, however the first treatment generally takes a couple of hours as a full assessment will take place prior to the massage.

PRICES
£40 a treatment. I do offer discount for 2 or more horses on the same yard.
Discount is also available if treating horse and rider.
