It all began back in the 1980s when I was seven and being raised by grandparents who were in the tailoring trade. I was often found in their local haberdashery shop pedalling away on the industrial sewing machines, learning to make cushions, teddy bears and then later clothes. My auntie went on to teach me how to construct patterns from body shapes and measurements for both ladies and gents, and I was making dresses and waistcoats by the time I went to university

After leaving university I started working in the design rooms of high street chains making sample garments for production for both mens and ladies wear. Later I went on to work for a bridal company for a number of years, where I improved my skills in pattern making, construction and design of wedding dresses. Finally I took over the family business which I still run today offering bespoke suits, shirts and coats, wedding suit hire and ladies and gents clothing alterations.

In 2011 I was part of a group of tailors from across the UK who designed the training modules for future Saville Row tailors. As part of this process I assessed trainee tailors and really enjoyed the opportunity to pass on my skills and passion to our future tailors.

I have been looking for my next opportunity within the tailoring trade and have discovered few tailors offering a genuine service to the gay and lesbian community. As a gay man myself I have a unique understanding of our community’s culture and views. I provide a comfortable environment to make your choices and offer day to day wear, wedding clothes and suits for business and special occasions for gay men. I also offer a similar service for lesbians, whether you require a dress, suit, kilt or that special wedding dress for your big day!

I also offer a visiting tailor service , which means I take all the hassle out of you finding the time to come to me, instead I can work around your schedule. I love meeting people and learning about who they are, it helps me understand your needs and how I can transfer that into the garment that I will design and construct especially for you when I get back to my workshop.
