Strid Wood Tearooms

Dave Thersby and Steve Holmes took over Strid Wood Tea Rooms (formerly "Dusty Bluebells") following their wish to make a lifestyle change and move away from their corporate backgrounds. Their days are now spent baking scones, cakes, making soups....very different to their previous lives!! The Tea Rooms are surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery Yorkshire has to offer, with walks down to the Strid, to Barden Tower and to the Abbey itself.
Tea served in vintage china, freshly ground coffee, home made cream teas, afternoon teas and cakes (including gluten free) freshly prepared sandwiches, home made soups and a regularly updated specials board, we hope to provide something for everyone. We pride ourselves on using local ingredients - Lishmans of Ilkley butchers, Craven Bakery in Skipton, Otley market....We have a gift shop that sells a range of ever changing products including local crafted items such as wooden gifts made by the Bodger of Strid Wood and a local carpenter, hand made toiletries (Leeds Soap Co), pottery, jewellery, local photography, scarves and Scamp baby wear. We sell local chutneys and jams, and outside have a selection of plants for sale.
We are dog friendly! (dogs are allowed in the tea rooms, we have several water bowls and give a free biscuit to well behaved mutts!) and family friendly ( we provide crayons, colouring in pictures and wildlife charts to keep little ones entertained, there is plenty of space to run around outside, and have a children's menu. We are breast feeding friendly, are happy to heat bottles on request, and there are baby changing facilities nearby). We welcome new faces and locals alike, cyclists, walkers and groups - if you are a large group we are happy for you to ring us and place your order in advance if you wish.
We provide free venue hire so get in touch if you would like us to host a special event for you; whether it's a children's party or afternoon tea, we can accommodate you.
