Steve McArdle Family Butchers is more than just a butchers!

We are a well established family run business that has been supplying the people of Chirk and the wider community with the very best of local and homemade products for over 30 years. We pride ourselves on the quality of goods and service we offer.

We offer only the finest quality Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef which has been sourced from local farms and expertly butchered on the premises. All our Welsh Beef is dry aged on the bone for a minimum of 21 days resulting in succulent and tender beef every time.

We are members of Hybu Cig Cymru (Meat Promotion Wales) which means we are licensed to sell Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef which, because of its quality and highly sort after status, has been granted Protected Geographical Indication (PGI). The pork we have is outdoor reared free range pork from Gloucester Old Spot pigs. This breed is renowned for its delicious taste, succulent meat and the best crackling you will have had!

We make a wide range of sausages and burgers on the premises using top quality ingredients resulting in a top quality product.

We also have an extensive range of steak pies which are all made from scratch on the premises using homemade shortcrust pastry and quality Welsh Beef resulting in a rich gravy, tender meat and perfect pastry every time.

As well as pies we also make Cottage Pies and Lasagne again using our own recipes and all containing Welsh Beef butchered on the premises.

Another of our most popular products is our own roast ham which is roasted in a rotisserie oven resulting in a ham which is bursting with flavour. When the hams are roasting in the shop they always attract a lot of interest because of the smell they produce and the spectacle of them turning on the spit. Mouth watering!

On the deli side of the business we have a very busy sandwich counter selling sandwiches and baps made fresh to order using traditionally baked bread from Smiths of Oswestry and of course all our home cooked meats and freshly prepared salads and coleslaws.
