Southsea School Of Dance

Southsea School of Dancing was founded in 1950 by Audrey Brown and was located in the heart of Southsea training aspiring young dancers including her own son who went on to dance professionally with the Royal Ballet Company and her daughter Nina who had a very successful career in show business before taking over as principal of the school following Audreys passing in 1991. Nina was trained at the renowned Bush Davies School and was privileged to be taught by the late Joyce Percy and Daphne Peterson. Along with performing in numerous Summer shows and pantomines, many as principal dancer Nina also enjoyed a long dance partnership with the late Robert Marlowe working in television and film. Nina holds ARAD status and is a registered RAD teacher, she also holds the Licentitate Diploma qualification of the ISTD and is qualified to teach classical ballet, national dance, tap and modern.
